The MTV Movie Awards are this Sunday, June 5. This year's show promises to be a knockout. It is being hosted by the "fierce" Christian Siriano. This fashionista will bring his own special mark to the show. And as the fans vote, this show is especially close to the nominated stars' hearts. Plus the awards are so original (from Best Kiss to Breakout Star). But who is up for these coveted popcorn shaped awards? Here's a breakdown:
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Obviously, "Twilight" has the best chance, seeing as they are nominated twice. But don't count out "Harry Potter." They have a huge fan following, as well.
Amy Adams vs. The Sisters (The Fighter)
Chloe Grace Moretz vs. Mark Strong (Kick-Ass)
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint vs. Death Eaters (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs. Hallway Attacker (Inception)
Ok, I am a Twi-Hard so my vote goes to "Eclipse." But "Kick Ass" has a strong shot seeing as they have such an original screenplay. Despite the age of its fighters "Kick Ass" is NOT a kid's movie, and its pint-sized heroine does in fact, kick ass.
Christoph Waltz (The Green Hornet)
Leighton Meester (The Roommate)
Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2)
Ned Beatty (Toy Story 3)
Tom Felton (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1)
What is a movie without its villain? These evil guys move the plot along and make us love to hate them! My money is actually on "Toy Story," which despite appealing to kids, has a great plot for adults too. Not all toys play nice.
BEST JAW DROPPING MOMENT:
James Franco (127 Hours)
Justin Bieber (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never)
Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page (Inception)
Natalie Portman (Black Swan)
Steve-O (Jackass 3D)
OK. James Franco cuts off his arm! But he's in for some er...stiff competition from the Biebs. This is MTV after all and teens make up most of their viewers. "Jackass" has a shot simply for their OMG factor. It's a tight race for this one.
BIGGEST BADASS STAR:
Chloe Grace Moretz
My money is on Chloe Grace Moretz. The girl was only 12 when she filmed her pint-sized brand of "Kick Ass" to the world. But if not her, then Robert Downey Jr. should get the prize. He's does comedy, action, is there anything this man can not do?
BEST SCARED-AS-S**T PERFORMANCE:
Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism)
Ellen Page (Inception)
Jessica Szohr (Piranha 3D)
Minka Kelly (The Roommate)
Ryan Reynolds (Buried)
Ack! Being buried alive makes "Buried" my vote for this category. But exorcising the devil in "The Last Exorcism" comes in right after! Either way, I really wouldn't want to be caught in any of the scenarios proposed by these films. Scary!
BEST LINE FROM A MOVIE:
"I want to get chocolate wasted!" Alexys Nycole Sanchez (Grown Ups)
"If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you'd have invented Facebook." Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network)
"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling." Tom Hardy (Inception)
OK. So "The Social Network" is nominated twice for this category so they are the fave to win. But my personal favorite is "Easy A." Tom Cruise is a higher power in my book. (Anyone seen that South Park episode?)
BEST BREAKOUT STAR:
Andrew Garfield (The Social Network)
Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass)
Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit)
Jay Chou (The Green Hornet) Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy)
Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Well really, Hailee Steinfeld should get this award since she was in an Academy Award nominated film. But since this is the MTV Awards and the fans vote I'm thinking that the award will go to Xavier Samuel. Personally I go in a different direction than either choice. I liked Olivia Wilde in TRON.
BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE:
Adam Sandler (Just Go With It)
Ashton Kutcher (No Strings Attached)
Emma Stone (Easy A)
Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek)
Zach Galifianakis (Due Date)
You gotta love Adam Sandler. He is priceless. But the competition is fierce in this category. Russell Brand is making his mark on the comedic world. Ashton Kutcher brings dirty back. Emma Stone makes her mark as a feminist with laughs. And Zach Galifianakis is an adorable source of comedy. I can't decide!
BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE:
Emma Stone (Easy A)
Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1)
Jennifer Aniston (Just Go With It)
Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Natalie Portman (Black Swan)
It's really down to the two powerhouses: "Harry Potter" and "Twilight." There is no question in my mind that one of these two will win. Which is too bad for "Black Swan." However I don't think Natalie Portman will mind, seeing as she won an Oscar. But this is voting by the fans, and the fans like wizards and vampires.
BEST MALE PERFORMANCE:
Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1)
Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network)
Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Zac Efron (Charlie St. Cloud)
Once again, I say that "Twilight" will take the honors. But Zac put in a really sweet performance, and everyone was impressed with Jesse's turn as genius turned billionaire in "The Social Network." And of course, Daniel is our favorite wizard.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
The Social Network
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
What a choice! Inception is my favorite. It was original and captivating. The sets were brilliant and the dream sequences were amazing. But I am also a fan of Harry Potter and Twilight. It's really anyone's game between these three.
