LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brad Pitt is reportedly donating $100K to fight a California November-ballot initiative aimed at eliminating the right to gay marriage.

"No one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," the actor said in a statement, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Brad's donation is the largest to a campaign against Proposition 8, by an A-list celebrity, according to the newspaper.

The "Burn After Reading" actor is well known for his charitable efforts. He and partner Angelina Jolie regularly contribute to children's causes. Brad is also highly involved in helping the New Orleans area devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

In 2006, Brad said he and Angelina would not marry until all couples had the same rights.

"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," the star told the October 2006 issue of Esquire.

What an excuse for being unmarried. Gays need rights then he'll wed. Brad & Ang are so special that they need to pursue perversion or they shun the spiritual union of marriage. Well, I've asked a few gay couples I know about this & they say those 2 "straighties" DON"T represent them. Money down the drain? What a shame!

I think he should have spent the money on more important issues like AIDS and Cancer. I'm not prejudice against gays I have a male and female cousins thats gay and I love them the same but it’s still unnatural to me what gays do in the bedroom in my opinion. They should never be disrespected because only God can judge us. The point is its way more important issues to spend your money o

The limitation (and that's probably the word the hubris driven dribblers of Hollyweird don't want to hear) is that it must be a person of the opposite gender. Marriage, by its very definition since the dawn of humankind, has meant between man and woman. Anything els

It's fine if he wants to donate, but to not get married until all gay couples can marry? Sounds like an excuse to me.
