Roll out that red carpet - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both scored Golden Globe nominations, it was announced Thursday.

Pitt is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, while Jolie scored a nod for her part in the Clint Eastwood drama Changeling.

The other noteworthy nomination went to Heath Ledger, who earned a posthumous nod for his role at the Joker in The Dark Knight.

There were some surprises: Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. were nominated for the comedy Tropic Thunder and James Franco got a nod for the pot comedy Pineapple Express.

Director Gus Van Sant's critically praised gay-rights biopic Milk was noticeably left off the Best Motion Picture category.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast Jan. 11 from the Beverly Hilton at 8 p.m. on NBC.

    Please, no more of this couple, I am sick to death of them. I don't give a crap what they claim they do, they are both undertalented and they got together while he was married. So, pardon me if I have zero respect for them, I hate Angelina Jolie and she will not ever change my views about her past no matter what kind of charitable stuff she does. Also, Angelina kissed her brother, YUCK!
