NEW YORK, New York -- A little over a month after confirming he and wife Katie Lee Joel were heading their separate ways, piano man Billy Joel is back on the dating scene.

A rep for the musician confirmed to Access Hollywood that he is dating Alex Donnelley, formerly of soap opera "The Young and The Restless."

Alex and Billy met backstage at his Washington, D.C., show earlier this summer, the New York Post reported.

The two reportedly have been on dates that included boating and riding around on motorcycles the musician owns.

Alex, who turns 50 next month, is closer in age to Billy, 60, than his ex Katie, who at the time of their split was just 27.

And while Billy has moved on, it seems his ex has as well.

Earlier this month, the NY Post reported that Katie Lee, a celebrity cook and the original host of Bravo's "Top Chef," is planning to open an all-American eaterie with producer Charlie Walk and restaurant man Sean Largotta.

Katie Lee Joel plans to call her NYC restaurant Burger County and according to the paper, it will serve burgers, shakes and fries.

    jazzy g, his first wife doesn't want him, and I'm quite sure that he doesn't want her anymore either. He seems to be happy with the woman that he's currently dating. He probably didn't expect Katie Lee to stay with him. I'm quite sure he had his pre-nup in order before he married her.
