WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The stars stepped out on Inauguration night, flocking to a host of balls across the nation's Capitol, to celebrate the Inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Beyonce was one of the first celebrities to perform for President Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama , singing "At Last" at the Neighborhood Ball as the couple took their first Presidential spin around the dance floor.

Mariah Carey was another star who took to the stage at the Neighborhood Ball, holding a glittering microphone as she serenaded the crowd with "Hero."

But the stars didn't stop there. Performances at the event also came from a spirited Mary J. Blige and will.i.am , while Queen Latifah made a special appearance.

Over at MTV & ServiceNation's Youth Inaugural Ball, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West and Kid Rock were among the performers honoring the President, though Mr. Obama was at other events while those acts took the stage. Usher , Rosario Dawson and Tobey Maguire , also partied the night away at MTV's event.

President Obama and his wife finally arrived to MTV & ServiceNation's Youth Ball just after 10:30 PM, taking the stage to loud chants of "O-B-A-M-A," and "Yes We Can," from the patrons gathered.

"The future will be in your hands if you are able to sustain the energy and focus that you showed on this campaign," the President said as he thanked the crowd during his brief visit.

President Obama danced publicly with his wife to a brass version of "At Last," the couple's fourth dance of the evening, before heading off to another event.

Singer Sheryl Crow kept the Obama spirit going at the Midwestern Ball playing her hit "A Change Would Do You Good," to a cheering crowd, the AP reported.

The singer told the crowd she couldn't remember the last time she played in a gown, saying, "I'm doing it for the new president. Just my way of serving my country."

At the Western Ball, Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony treated the crowd to a spontaneous duet, when Marc invited Jennifer up on stage. Jennifer squashed any split rumors with a very public kiss on her husband's lips.

Wyclef Jean had 7,000 revealers swinging their tuxedo jackets in the air as a sign of Obama support during his 30-minute performance at the Mid-Atlantic Ball.

Over at the at the Commander in Chief Ball, Jon Bon Jovi kept it poignant and more low-key, with and acoustic performance of "Who Says You Can't Go Home?"

His hey me $160 million party just didn't look like it. I think his staff are allready laundering the money they should have spent on this party. Look at her dress donated by the salvation army and all. She really looks down to earth I thought she was just another homeless gal looking for a free handout. nice couple.

I'm 15, have 3 kids, & I'm an uneducated, high school drop-out who just wants my welfare check, food stamps, & all of the above! I think my baby's father is in prison(1 of the 3 fathers of my kids). BO & his wife are just glowing-not unlike me-I'm pregnant again! Thanks BO! Haters!

Yesterday was like a dream to me but wasn't. I don't really care about what people say about president Barack Obama. We believe in you and you will bring change in the United Stated Of America. He will bring back what other countries took from us. I want to use this little opportunity to say congratulations to his wife, michelle Obama, Jeo Bidin, and his wife. You guys finally made

first lady michelle obama needs to hire a dance instructor ASAP....i watched the cnn coverage of all balls and she just couldn't hack it, pres. obama is a great dancer, but she could just not follow. it was more than obvious mr. obama was trying, but not even the spins were done right....and she on top of that, instead of playing it cool, she still complained with a squirm on her face.
