Beyonce has another title to add to her already impressive resume. The singer-turned-actress is set to become a director for the first time. According to reports, the talented star will direct a biographical documentary about her life and career. The movie will combine concert footage and interviews in an effort to give fans an inside look at all things Bey. The ball is already rolling, and 20 minutes of the documentary has already been shown to distributors. With this latest move, Beyonce joins an impressive list of stars to direct their own movies. Here are a few other A-listers that have done the same.
Clint, who will direct the "Love on Top" songstress in the upcoming movie "A Star is Born," is a pro when it comes to directing his own movies. In fact, he has been behind the camera for more than a dozen of his own films. The last time Clint directed himself came with the 2008 drama "Gran Torino." He will appear in his first movie since then when "Trouble with the Curve" debuts in September. That film will mark the first time that Clint has worked with a different director since 1993. He has directed himself in both "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby," two films that won the Best Picture Oscar.
The Oscar-winning actor has directed himself in two different feature films. He had a small role in the musical comedy "That Thing You Do!" in 1996, a film that he also wrote. In 2011, he directed himself in a leading role for the charming comedy "Larry Crowne." Tom, who has also directed episodes of TV hits such as "Band of Brothers," has no directorial efforts lined up at the present time. If he ever decides to direct a movie again, it's a safe bet that he will put himself in the cast.
Like Hanks, Jodie has won two Oscars. Also like Hanks, she is fond of directing her own work. The "Silence of the Lambs" star first directed herself in the 1991 drama "Little Man Tate." After 20 years, she directed herself for the second time when she appeared in the Mel Gibson drama "The Beaver." She has also served as a producer on some of her films, including "Nell" and "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys."
