The 40th annual American Music Awards took place on November 18 at the Nokia Theater, and as usual, big names walked the red carpet hoping to impress with their fashion choices. While many tried but failed, there were a handful of celebs who looked fabulous from head-to-toe. So which stars rocked their red carpet looks at the 2012 American Music Awards?
The Disney actress proved that you don't need to let it all hang out just to look fantastic. The 16-year-old wore an Alice + Olivia dress that consisted of a short black layered tulle skirt and a nude top with black beading. She paired the look with black heels, a faux bob and bubble gum pink lipstick. The look was fun, age appropriate and perfect for the event.
The country crooner loves Zuhair Murad! While walking the red carpet, she rocked a long sleeve nude Zuhair Murad open back mini dress that was embellished with gold beading. She completed the look with strappy heels, smokey eyes and nude lips and wore her hair in a pretty updo. The beauty walked away with an award for Favorite Country Female Artist.
Is the wild child singer undergoing a style makeover? The "Die Young" singer, who is known for her rather unclean look, looked fantastic in a short lace dress that she paired with black stilettos. Other than smokey eyes, she kept her makeup natural and had her hair in gorgeous soft waves. Quite the change from how we're used to seeing her!
The "Once Upon a Time" actress is one of the few ladies who could pull off the pink short sleeve Oscar de la Renta embroidered cocktail dress and make it look stunning instead of ridiculous. A mirrored clutch and strappy silver heels finished off her look.
The "Blown Away" singer managed to land herself on the best and worst dressed lists for the evening in her two very different frocks. Her first look deserves a ton of praise as does her choice to add a burst of color onto the red carpet. Her cap sleeve purple sequined gown looked gorgeous on her and her wavy hairdo complemented it perfectly.
Which looks from the 2012 AMAs is your favorite?
