Ben Affleck On Married Life: 'Things Are Pretty Great'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ben Affleck's home life is "pretty great," according to the actor.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Affleck and his wife of three years, Jennifer Garner, were close to splitting. A rep for Garner quickly denied the report.

On Friday, in an interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush for "The Billy Bush Show," Affleck said life with Garner and the couple's two-year-old daughter Violet was going well.

"Things are pretty great," Affleck said, when asked if he had any vacation plans on the horizon. "We're very happy. Things couldn't be better. We're kind of taking it easy and just kind of enjoying a little downtime at home."

Affleck said he wasn't really thinking about taking a holiday away presently.

"I'm at a point now where even… vacation sort of feels a little bit like work," he laughed. "I'd rather just kind of chill and take it easy."

In related news, on Thursday, Affleck helped out "Nightline," shining a light on the situation in the Congo.

The three trips the actor made affected him deeply, he told Billy.

"It's definitely changed me," Affleck said. "It's definitely been a part of… I guess a growing sense that I have a responsibility to do something with my life that's other than just serving mileage in some way… You have a responsibility to your kid and also a responsibility to the world around you, so all that [is] part of the motivation for doing all this stuff."

They always deny rumours of a split; then there's an announcement that they will remain 'the best of friends.' Madonna and her hubby are splitting up, too.

Naughty Benny! They all talk about downtime right before they gather the troops for a nice divorce battle complete with million-dollar attorneys on retainer and a battalion of private eyes watching the spouse's every move to make sure they don't get a penny.......

They are basically the only celebrities i know that dont act like celebrities...they have a good family, they have family time, they dont do anything stupid, and they stay away from the lime-light. this is the best couple...god bless!

It's wonderful to hear that they are all doing well. Celebrities are always in the spotlight, so sometimes they just need a little time to themselves away from the cameras. Their daughter is sooo adorable, I don't blame them for wanting as much family time as possible. As long as they are happy and content together, they deserve all the private family time they wish to have togeth

the reason divorce is down is not because married people are not splitting up....people are just living together rather than getting married...

To swtazzgal--you're right about the downtrend in American divorce, but not necessarily the reason. It isn't so much that people are getting better at being married, but that they aren't getting married at all and are choosing to pursue non-maritally-committed, live-in relationships.

Actually...in recen years America's divorce rate has taken a significant turn down almost 10% from that 52% rate in the nineties. Apparently the fact that we are getting BETTER at staying married in our country isn't news worthy and people just keep on thinking the odds are against them. I don't know ANY of my friends who are divorced yet and we're all in our mid
