  The death tax doesn't make sense. Those assets have been taxed with income tax, payroll tax, sales tax and capital gains tax, as well as other taxes. Dim you are very naive to think that the death tax doesn't affect the middle class. You should do your research before saying what will affect this American citizen. 75% of Americans believe the death tax should be repealed.

  Death tax will hurt middle class Americans that have planned. Death tax affects about 40% of people with estates under 5 mil (2003 numbers). Death tax will hurt family businesses if it is repealed. About 70% of these businesses will not survive to make is to the 2nd generation. The business will have to sell assests to pay the death tax.
