Will you accept this … rumba?
That could be the mantra for "The Bachelor" star Sean Lowe, who may soon be trading in his dream dates for dancing shoes! The hunky Dallas business entrepreneur hasn't even doled out his final rose yet, and there's already talk that he's on tap to compete on the spring edition of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."
According to the latest issue of Us Weekly, a "DWTS" deal with the ab-tastic reality star hasn't been finalized, but it's "likely" that Sean will soon be tripping the light fantastic on the TV dancing competition. "We would love to have him," a show source was quoted as saying.
"I think Sean could definitely pull it together to make it all the way on 'Dancing with the Stars,'" she said. "He's incredibly athletic and a quick adapter to all sorts of activities. So, I think he could do really good." (Nice words from a gal who was sent packing without warning!)
Sean recently said that he was unsure if any more TV is in his future, but he would "take a look" at opportunities that seem too good to pass up. He similarly downplayed his TV aspirations after being dumped by Emily Maynard on last season's "The Bachelorette," then surprised everyone by signing on to be the 17th star of "The Bachelor."
Speaking of Emily Maynard, Sean's now-single ex has also been rumored to be a contestant on the upcoming "DWTS" season. A Radar Online article cited an agreement the Southern beauty made with producers when she signed on to star on "The Bachelorette" last year, so perhaps Sean made a similar deal?
Either way, it's unlikely that these blonde bombshells will go head to head on the spring edition of the show. While reality stars are aplenty on "DWTS" (everyone from Kim Kardashian to Kate Gosselin have competed on the show), it would be highly unusual for two former co-stars to compete against one another on the same season. (We'll make an exception for Jaleel White and his short-lived "Charlie & Company" TV mom Gladys Knight, because they were only sitcom co-stars for, like, a millisecond.)
While "DWTS" pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy told Life & Style he'd "love to dance" with Emily Maynard if she joins the show, we're sure Sean (and his six-pack!) would have no problem finding a willing partner either. (Although we have to admit we were hoping his next on-camera stint would be a made-for TV wedding!)
Past "Bachelor" alums who have competed on "Dancing With the Stars" include Trista Rehn Sutter, Jake Pavelka, and Melissa Rycroft, who went on to become the Season 15 mirror ball champ.
The highly-anticipated "Dancing With the Stars" Season 16 cast announcement is slated for Feb. 26 on "Good Morning America."
