Ashley Judd has put the brakes on her 11 year marriage to race car driver, Dario Franchitti.
The actress announced their decision to divorce on Tuesday saying, "We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We will always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
The couple tied the knot in a romantic Scottish castle in December 2011.
With the news that they have decided to call it quits, the couple joins an ultra-exclusive group of stars who decided to divorce after more than a decade of marriage. Here are some of the long-term couples who shockingly split:
Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito: The pint-sized couple made our jaws drop when they announced they were ending their marriage in October 2012 after more than 30 years together. The couple, who met in 1970 waited till 1982 to tie the knot and are parents to three adult children. Things may not be as grim as they initially appeared for the longtime couple as DeVito recently revealed that they are still trying to work things out. He told "Extra" in December, "We're actually still together, just separate - but together."
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver: Not even the Terminator could fix their 25 year marriage when allegations of an affair and illegitimate child hit the couple in 2011. The reporter from a privileged family showed her leading man the door when it was revealed that he had fathered a secret love child with a member of the household staff years earlier. The actor threw salt in the wound when he gave the world all the gory details in his 2012 memoir "Total Recall."
Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli: The "Beverly Hills, 90210" alumnae and her "Twilight Saga" actor husband decided to throw in the towel on their 11 year marriage in March 2012. In announcing their split they said, "While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time."
