    The Artist Tops Critics' Choice Movie Awards

    The Artist came away as the big winner at the Critic' Choice Movie Awards, taking home the trophy for Best Picture, Director, Costume Design and Score.

    "I don't like to speak so much," director Michel Hazanavicius said upon accepting his award Thursday night. "There are so many beautiful people here. I have to force myself not to ask for autographs."

    The Help also came up big with Viola Davis named Best Actress and Octavia Spencer Best Supporting Actress. The cast won Best Acting Ensemble. "I consider it an honor to pay homage to these woman who at that time period were not allowed to dream," Davis said during her speech.

    Other winners included George Clooney as Best Actor for his performance in The Descendants and Christopher Plummer as Best Supporting Actor for Beginners.
