Amy Winehouse hit the stage at a concert honoring Nelson Mandela in Hyde Park, England Friday.
The performance " including a rendition of her hit "Rehab" " was a coup for Winehouse, 24, who was
taken to the hospital last week for tests after she fainted at home in London. Her dad told UK newspaper the
Daily Mail that
she has emphysema.
The Grammy winner joined
Will Smith,
Jada Pinkett Smith,
Leona Lewis,
Annie Lennox, Simple Minds and Queen to honor the political icon's 90th birthday.
Prince William and his girlfriend
Kate Middleton were in the audience.
"Where there is poverty and sickness, including Aids, where human beings are being oppressed, there's more work to be done," Mandela told the crowd. "Our work is for freedom for all."
Last month, Winehouse was
released on bail after being arrested for suspicion of drug use. She was questioned by police for more than nine hours about footage from January that shows her allegedly using a crack pipe.
The singer also went to rehab in January.
