For the second straight Amazing Race elimination, a team went from first to worst. BFFs and beard aficionados Brandon and Adam got the boot after getting U-Turned by the Afghanimals Leo and Jamal, who were U-Turned themselves, and struggled at the Neptune statue-posing Detour, not once, but twice. "After we won last week, everybody was excited and psyched. All week I knew it was coming, like, 'Yeah, I'm going to lose!'" Brandon tells TVGuide.com. "But once it actually happened, I was able to talk to the people watching with me and it wasn't so bad. It happened a while ago, so we've gotten over it." But do they think they would have avoided getting U-Turned had they not left the statue Detour in the first place? Find out below.

Do you know how far behind you were?
Brandon: I'm not really sure. All I know is when we were going up to do the statues for the second time, the Afghanimals were leaving. And we were there for a good deal of time. It was bad timing both times we got to the statues. The same crowd was there and the other teams had just left, so they were out of money. Had we been there when no other team was there, we probably would've been fine.
Adam: Those teams collectively spent less time on the statues than we did the first time we tried it. And we were there longer the second time.
It seemed like a bad idea changing Detours the first time since you knew there was a Double U-Turn ahead.
Brandon: Well, we didn't know it was a Double U-Turn then, just that there was a U-Turn ... but we knew that everyone wanted to U-Turn the Afghanimals and we didn't want any part of that. ... I think our decision leaving the statues was sound because the baseball wives had been there for like five, 10 minutes. We had been there for 20 minutes and had nothing close to 75 zloty. It just didn't make sense and it wasn't the Detour we wanted to do in the first place. Since we hadn't seen any other team come through, we were like, "OK, let's go dance. Obviously people are tapped out right now."
Adam: We had, like, 7 zloty out of 75 after 20 minutes and people were throwing firecrackers at us. And I think it was the fake beards. The fake beards threw people off.
If you were allowed to show your real beards, you obviously would've won the leg.
Brandon: [Laughs] I know! My real beard was sticking out from underneath it.
Adam: We tried and they said no. "We've got beards. And they're more impressive than these." "No, you've got to wear it."
Brandon: Double beards are not good for making money. I think they scare people.
How long were you at the dancing Detour?
Brandon: We smashed the dancing! We did it once more than the professional, body-moving ice queens. I think they did it in three and we did it in four.
Adam: Brandon and I can bust a move. We can hustle our shuffle.
Brandon: It took us a long time to find it. We had some unforeseen circumstances come up.
Amazing Race's Chester and Ephraim: We don't regret taking the double connection
Brandon: Yeah. They didn't show it. We asked a lot of people and everyone kept directing us to a place that was right next to the statues. ... Bad taxi or bad directions can win or lose it for you, and in our case, we lost. You can second-guess yourself all day long, but I think it was a good decision for us to go for the dancing seeing how bad we were at the statues. Had we gotten [to the dancing] before the Afghanimals, we would've smoked them. They took forever there! And we took forever at the statues. Yeah, we could've sat down for 20 minutes, waited for a new crowd and maybe we could've been ahead of everyone, but we wouldn't have been doing anything for 20 minutes! You just never know.
Did you think you'd be U-Turned when you were the last ones at the dancing?
Adam: Well, we ran past the statues going to the U-Turn box and the Afghanimals told us, "Sorry." So we knew it was coming, but we still had to go find it and pretend we cared. Or... pretend we didn't know and then run back.
Brandon: We have no hard feelings. They did what they had to do. It was the ice queens next to them and us, and they were in an alliance with the ice queens. You would U-Turn your grandma at that point.
A lot of fans don't like that on a Double U-Turn, the first team that is U-Turned can use the second U-Turn before completing the other Detour. Do you think that's fair?
Brandon: I never thought about that. I guess you should have to do the other Detour before you can use the other U-turn. [Laughs]
Adam: It makes it fairer, but at the same time, this way gives them protection. They're like, "Oh, I'm U-Turn. Well, I'll just burn the guy behind me." It makes it safe unless they fail at the other Detour, which they could've. ... Looking at it the other way, if we both did the statues as our first Detour and they U-Turned us, and we went back to do the dancing, we would've finished the dancing before them because we did it in like a quarter of the time they took. I mean, I look damn good in a dress!
Brandon: We got whistled at, yelled at.
Adam: I'm pretty sure had we not been busy on the Race, we could've picked up some ladies. We're both married, but other than that. [Laughs]
Brandon: When we were running around, people were calling me Forrest Gump. It was really weird. "Hey, Forrest!" Maybe it's really big in Poland.
Amazing Race's Rowan and Shane: No regrets on "huge mistake"
What are you up to now?
Adam: I'm still living in the woods. I'm finishing some projects up here.
Brandon: I finished my house and just recording an album with one of my bands.
Adam: Now we've got to come up with a new plan for me to retire and Brandon to get a camel. Maybe we'll Kickstart it.
