Sarah Jessica Parker has reported to the set of "Lovelace," the biopic about legendary porn star Linda Lovelace. Parker will not be playing the title role. That honor will fall to Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried joins a list of mainstream actors that have played porn stars on the silver screen. Will she make an impact that people remember? Time will tell on that one. Here is a look at some of the most notable actors to portray an actor in the adult film industry.
1. Mark Wahlberg
Wahlberg was just one of many big actors to play a porn star in the critically loved "Boogie Nights." Julianne Moore, Don Cheadle, John C. Reilly, and Heather Graham were among the other stars of the movie to appear as stars of the forbidden cinema. All of the actors really delivered the goods in this one. Wahlberg catapulted from cheesy boy band status to Hollywood gold with this turn.
2. Courtney Love
The widow of Kurt Cobain appears as a Hustler model that marries Larry Flynt in "The People Versus Larry Flynt." Love looks comfortable on screen as she poses for the magazine in the movie. But this performance is more about a tragic woman addicted to drugs than it is about a porn star.
3. Val Kilmer
Kilmer has done some great work playing real life people. The movie "Wonderland" is another great example. He plays real life porn legend John Holmes in this movie. The focus of the film is about an armed robbery that goes horribly wrong. But Kilmer deserves some credit for giving a great portrayal of Holmes. He keeps his clothes on as well.
4. Elisha Cuthbert
Cuthbert is known for good looks and sweet charm. But she probably made her parents feel a little uncomfortable the premiere of "The Girl Next Door." The premise is simple enough. A nice high school guy falls in love with the charming girl living next to him. But it all goes haywire when he learns that his sweet crush used to be a big star in the adult film industry.
5. Trey Parker
Trey Parker is most famous for being the creator of "South Park." But he has appeared in several movies that earned less than glaring reviews from critics. One of those performances came in the movie "Orgazmo." Parker plays a nice Mormon man that wants to marry his fiancée. However, he needs money to do that. In order to get those funds he has to star in a cheesy porn movie in which he dresses up like a superhero. The movie never impressed the general public but it offers some great jokes at the expense of the industry.
