LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Dick Clark Productions, who produces the American Music Awards, told Access Hollywood that portions of Sunday's show were edited for the west coast feed due to unforeseen events during the live broadcast.

"Due to the live nature of the show we did not expect the impromptu moment in question," a rep for Dick Clark Productions said in a statement to Access, referring to Adam Lambert's racy performance of "For Your Entertainment," where he simulated some sexually suggestive poses with a male dancer, which was edited out on the west coast.

Of the 14.2 million who tuned in to see the awards show, approximately 1,500 people called in to complain about the glam rocker's racy performance, the Associated Press reported.

ABC reportedly called the audience complaints, "moderate."

As for the other edited portion of the Sunday's show - Jennifer Lopez's fall during her performance of "Louboutins," the network said it cut the slip out of respect to the singer.

"Regarding Jennifer Lopez, execs and producers felt it was respectful to Ms. Lopez to edit the mishap for later time zones," the statement said.

My reaction to the face-crotch action was "Whoa! Either the show isn't on a delay, or the red-button pusher was snoozing." But the song is sure catchy and has been stuck in my head all darned week!

I have to wonder why is the Madonna/Britney kiss the ONLY thing that anyone can compare this to. How is their kiss the same as putting someone's face in your crotch?... Lauren - So I'm an old-fashioned older adult. In this "era that's approaching" will all vocalists be rubbing peoples heads into their crotches? See, I'm a singer so I kind of need

I just watched Whitney Houston perform on DWTS. She didn’t grab her crotch or breast. She didn’t shove a dancers head in her crotch either and she didn’t even kiss another dancer!!! She gave REAL talent and entertainment. UNLIKE the trash we saw on AMA. How refreshing!

I'm a big fan of Adam but I felt sorry for him after the show. He was trying to hard to generate big CD sales the next day and it turned out to be the opposite. It took him 5 minutes to destroy his reputation and fame he gained during American Idol. The fame came too easily for him and the biggest winner of this controversy is the guy who actually won AI - I don't even remember h

i wasnt nuts about the song either. BUT get over it! everyone that hated his performance were old fashioned older adults who cant open their eyes to the era thats approaching. adams lifestyle is his choice. and ABC was WELL aware of adams performance.. they rehearse like a million times. if it were two girls dancing like that you wouldnt be saying ANYTHING!
