LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The woman who allegedly came between Shania Twain and husband Robert "Mutt" Lange has broken her silence.
Marie-Anne Thiebaud, 37, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple's chateau in Switzerland, spoke to E! News via phone about her reported role in the split.

"When marriages break up, they break up for all sorts of complicated reasons - it's never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private," Thiebaud said. "If you're looking for a person that broke up a marriage, then you have the wrong person. I'm not that person."
Earlier this week, it was reported that Twain and Lange were calling it quits after 14 years of marriage. According to People, several sources close to the couple confirmed the split, adding Lange had become romantically involved with Thiebaud.

"Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," People quoted a source as saying.
However, when contacted by People, the notoriously reclusive Lange denied the claim.

"It's absolutely not the reason [for the separation from Twain]," Lange said. "It's not true."
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, wed on December 28, 1993. They have a six-year-old son named Eja.
