It's official: Actors Alison Pill and Jay Baruchel have ended their engagement. The pair - engaged since 2010 - planned to marry this past September, but that never worked out. Instead, Baruchel tweeted about his loneliness in a mid-February tweet.
"Alone again, naturally. Heartbroken," he tweeted before deleting the message. "I won't be on twitter for awhile gang. Getting dumped rules."
Ultimately, they split because of distance - Baruchel wanted to stay in Canada, while the "Newsroom" star wanted to stay in Hollywood for film roles.
"Working and living in Canada is something that [he[ is very passionate about," a source told US Weekly. "He wanted her up there more often.
Sad news, but we're sure both sides will find new partners soon. After all, broken engagements are pretty common in Hollywood.
Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen seemed like the perfect couple - they once boasted they don't go more than a few weeks without seeing each other - but they too broke off their engagement.
The good news? The split might just be temporary.
"It's likely not permanent," a source told E! News of the split. "Temporary hiccup."
Let's hope so!
Britney Spears' little sister might be engaged, but Spears isn't: She and fiance Jason Trawick officially broke off their engagement in January. The reasons why remain unclear, but sources told TMZ that they just "grew apart."
But, other sources said Trawick felt insecure after giving up his successful entertainment business career to be with Spears.
"Jason definitely feels resentful toward Britney because he gave up his career and everything he spent years working for in order to be everything to Britney," the source said, adding that he wasn't "psyched" about being Spears' househusband.Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler show that sometimes broken engagements can lead to a happy ending. The former reality star ended her engagement to the Chicago Bears quarterback in 2011.
"Jay dumped her out of nowhere," a source said of the summer 2011 split.
It didn't last for long, though. They reunited and got an engaged again by November. They welcomed son Camden Jack Cutler last summer. The wedding is still TBD - and Cavallari isn't sharing anything about it, other than saying she's already picked out a dress.
