LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Viewers of Wednesday night's "American Idol" received a new kind of call to action by none other than Alicia Keys.

The 12-time Grammy Award winner appeared on "Idol" to promote the Text ALIVE Challenge, which asks donors to text the word "ALIVE" to 90999 to make a five-dollar donation to the non-profit organization, Keep a Child Alive (KCA.)

"No matter how much or how little we each have, when we pull together we have the power to change the world," Alicia said. "That's the beauty of Keep A Child Alive and the Text ALIVE Challenge--it only costs $5 to help save a life."

The money-raising texts will provide life-saving care in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and India.

Alicia also introduced a new talent to the stage last night -- 15-year-old Noah is an aspiring rapper and patient at the KCA-funded clinic in Kigali, Rwanda.

KCA Co-Founder, Leigh Blake, discovered Noah and immediately recognized his talent during a visit to the clinic. Noah was then invited to perform at KCA's annual Black Ball fundraiser in New York City, where "Idol" creator Simon Fuller was being honored for his charitable contributions.

Noah performed R. Kelly's "The World's Greatest," which is now available for download on iTunes with all proceeds to benefit KCA. He hopes that through his music, he will be able to change the lives of his family and the millions of people living with HIV.

Seconds after texting the word "ALIVE" to 90999, donors will receive a confirmation text asking them to respond with the word "YES" and their donation will be applied to their next wireless phone bill.

It's so funny how you want to make the PUBLIC see YOU as someone who help the less fortunate, but you are sleeping with Mashonda (HUSBAND) Swiss beat. While they were MARRIED, which has lead to their DIVORCE. Nice lady you are!!!
