LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Despite long-standing rumors that Amy Winehouse was going to record the theme for the new James Bond film, it appears two Americans have beat her to the punch.

Alicia Keys and Jack White of bands The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, will record the theme for "Quantum of Solace," Access Hollywood has learned.

The song duties had also been rumored, at times, to be going to everyone from Leona Lewis to Annie Lennox and Beyonce Knowles.

The new track, called "Another Way To Die," was written and produced by White, who also drums on the number.

It will be the first theme to feature a duet in James Bond history.

"Quantum of Solace" will hit theatres in November, but the soundtrack will be out October 28.

Previous popular Bond themes include Madonna's "Die Another Day," Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger," Duran Duran's "A View To A Kill," and Paul McCartney's "Live And Let Die."

In addition to being musicians, Keys and White are both big screen veterans.

Keys previously starred in 2006's "Smokin' Aces," while White had a part in 2003's "Cold Mountain," alongside then girlfriend Renee Zellweger.

    If "pedigrees" mean anything, this should be a great Bond song!! Alica Keys is simply one of the most talented R-n-B / hip-hop artists - and easily one of the most BEAUTIFUL women - on Planet Earth! And Jack White (of the White Stripes) oozes song writing talent out of every pore - whether you appreciate his style of music or not. Two thumbs up - good choice, Bond producers!
