Alex Rodriguez's Estranged Wife Breaks Her Silence

NEW YORK, New York -- For the first time since filing for divorce from New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, Cynthia Rodriguez is speaking out.

C-Rod, as she's been dubbed, opened up to the New York Post's Cindy Adams about her estranged husband's alleged affairs and the stripper that was the final straw.

In fact, Cynthia insists she is "not out to mutilate" Alex, according to Adams' interview.

But when news broke last year of the slugger's alleged affair with 32-year-old stripper Jocelyn Morse, it caused Cynthia so much "pain" that she "refuses to go there again," she told Adams.

And while Cynthia claims Alex never believed their marriage would blow up, or that in her view, he would never believe that she wouldn't always be there for him, Cynthia also believes that her soon-to-be-ex-husband may have mistakenly taken her 13 years of dedication as weakness.

But through it all, Cynthia said she still loves A-Rod and has no regrets, despite the fact her marriage is over.

Certainly the split hasn't been easy for C-Rod or A-Rod, but it's also been difficult on the couple's children.

According to Adams' column, Cynthia said the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Natasha, is saying, "I miss my daddy."

And the feeling is apparently mutual.

Earlier this week, a source close to A-Rod told Access Hollywood the baseball star has been "very depressed about not being able to see his girls."

However, it appears dad and daughters might soon have their reunion. Access Hollywood has confirmed Cynthia has agreed to let Alex see his kids (they also have an 11-week-old daughter, Ella) in Toronto on Friday.

It would mark the first time the kids have seen their dad since the split.

Adams also asked Cynthia about her much-talked about trip to France, following the news of A-Rod's rumored romance with Madonna (which the pop star has denied), where Cynthia reportedly stayed at the home of rocker Lenny Kravitz and went on quite a lavish $100,000 spending spree, which some labeled as an act of revenge towards Alex.

"Not one word of those stories is true. I never before in all my married life together ever went away without my husband or family. Not once in 13 years," Cynthia told Adams. "I did not spend one dollar shopping in Paris. I did not go to super-fancy expensive restaurants. I did not go to any spa. I didn't do one thing. I spent the most innocent four days with my children's godparents, who are as close to us as family. My husband and I were already into our problems and I didn't know where to go, what to do. I needed to think. To clear my head."

But when all is said and done, those who know Cynthia best insist that even down the road, she'll be there when Alex needs her.

Adams said Cynthia has even told trusted friends Alex can call on her the day things get tough, because as Cynthia put it, it's going to be "an ugly thing."

"When you're married to a person that's real and this reality falls by the wayside, it ends up being really tough. One day he'll wake up . . . and he'll crash . . . but Cynthia will be there for him," Cynthia's lawyers, Earle Lilly and John Van Ness, said, according to Adams.
