What maternity leave? Brazilian stunner Alessandra Ambrosio is working hard to get back into bikini shape just weeks after giving birth. After all, she's got a big job: The Angel has reportedly been anointed to model the $2.5 million-dollar fantasy bra during the Victoria's Secret fashion show in November.
"I just wanted to scream," she told People of the moment she was asked to model the iconic bra. "But I won't lie, I was really worried. I was in total mother mode."
So, what's the big deal about this year's bra - and how is the 31-year-old model and mother of two getting show-ready?
The Fantasy Bra is Truly a Jewelry Lover's Fantasy
Big name models like Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr have worn the much-discussed undergarment in the past. This year's bra is a one-of-a-kind creation that pairs a Victoria's Secret Very Sexy pushup bra adorned with 2,500 hand-set jewels, including amethysts, sapphires, rubies and a 20-carat diamond in the middle.
"It was perfect for me," she said of the bra. "I felt they made it for me. It's very romantic."
Her Show Prep
"I'm pretty calm," she said when asked about her nerves. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Don't assume that she's going to wing it, though. The model - who gave birth to second child Noah in May - has been doing a lot of cardio and strength training to get ready for her debut.
"I was playing a lot of volleyball on the beach, swimming and running after my kids. And breastfeeding always helps," she said of her summer routine. She also does spinning and walking for cardio, along with yoga and daily Pilates.
As for her diet, she said she sticks to green juices and plenty of fish with some pizza and ice cream thrown in for good measure.
Something tells us her genes play into this too, 'cause we wouldn't look like that with just a bit of cardio and yoga.
Her Other Projects
Ambrosio is keeping pretty busy these days, thanks to her role as mom and bra model. However, the longtime runway model is about to launch a new shoe line.
The one thing she can't control in her life? How her daughter dresses.
"She dresses herself, are you kidding me?" the model joked to Harper's Bazaar while promoting the new shoe line. "…When I put her in an outfit, she wouldn't like it and I would have to dress her in what she wanted. She has her own style and it's cute you know, nothing matches with anything but it's the most adorable thing that you can think of."
Sounds like a model in the making.
