NEW YORK, New York -- "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin is keeping a sense of humor about his just-announced Academy Awards co-hosting duties with Steve Martin.
"Some people will say it's the worst choice in the world," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while serving out other co-hosting duties at the Film Foundation's screening of "The Red Shoes" in New York City on Tuesday night. "They'll say, 'What, are they kidding?'"

Alec also joked about his co-host, a well-regarded bluegrass musician as well as a Hollywood star.
"I told them I do not play the banjo," Alec said, referencing Steve who is an accomplished banjo player. "I'm doing it out of my respect for the Academy."
