Kris Jenner isn't the only talk show host who is talking about the Kardashian family. But while she was entertaining her audience by gabbing about Kim Kardashian's baby, "The Real" host Adrienne Bailon was telling a terrifying tale about getting her Rob Kardashian tattoo removed.
According to Us Weekly, "The Cheetah Girls" star said that she could smell her "ass flesh burning" while she got the ink removed from her backside. She went on to warn her viewers against getting a lover's name etched on such a sensitive spot by saying, "It's awful. Ten-letter last name, Kardashian. It's pretty bad, yeah. Now that is a ratchet tattoo. I made a very bad decision. Don't follow my example."
Rob Kardashian also has Adrienne Bailon's name tattooed on his rib cage, but he told Crushable that he had no plans to get it removed during a 2010 interview. After admitting that he cheated on his ex, he said this about the tat: "I don't regret it at all. People always make fun of me for it, but I don't regret it because at the time, and still to this day, I'll always have love for Adrienne. That's why I haven't gotten it removed, and I don't think I will. At least that's what I'm saying now."
Celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D is one star who did end up changing her mind about an inking that paid homage to an ex. After she and Jesse James broke up in 2011, she told TMZ that she planned on keeping Jesse's portrait inked on her rib cage. She explained, "I love my tattoo. It's more than just a portrait, it has a lot of meaning." However, she later took to Instagram to tell her fans that she was getting a #freshstart by getting the tattoo removed.
But celebs don't just get tattoos removed because they reference an ex. According to the Mirror, Mark Wahlberg said that he decided to get his tattoos singed from his skin via laser because he doesn't want his kids getting inked. Here's what he said about his plan to discourage them from repeating his mistakes: "I'm taking my two oldest kids with me to the procedure, where they can see how painful that is." His plan might work since he told talk show host David Letterman that one session left him with "big welts and pus bubbles." Mark also said that he wants his tattoos gone because it's a "pain in the butt" to cover them up for movie roles.
Rapper 50 Cent told People that he was in the process of getting his tattoos removed for the same reason during a 2010 interview, but he wasn't just annoyed about having to spend too much time in a makeup chair. Here's what he said about wearing makeup while starring in an action movie: "When you're a fighter, you're sweating, [and] with a whole bunch of make-up on and stuff like that, it doesn't look real to me."
Supermodel Niki Taylor also got a tattoo removed because of work -- she feared the ink on her arm was preventing her from landing jobs. Here's how she described the laser removal process: "I'd rather give birth than have my tattoo removed, that's how painful it is. It's quick, but going through it is so … it's like a burning, snapping shock through your whole body." If her kids went with her to her laser sessions, it's safe to say that they'll also be scared away from getting inked.
Megan Fox is another lovely lady who regretted using her body as a canvas. In 2011 she revealed that she was getting her Marilyn Monroe tattoo removed because her love for the star had waned -- she labeled Monroe a "negative" and "disturbed" person. But she definitely paid dearly for her change of heart about the blonde bombshell. During an interview with Jay Leno, this is what she said about her experience going under the laser: "It sort of exploded and looked like little kernels of popcorn popping up. It's traumatic and it's incredibly painful. They can't numb it enough to make the pain go away."
