Adele May Take Two Or Three Years Before Next Album

Nominated for six Grammy awards and recently named Billboard's Artist of the Year, Adele has dominated the 2011 charts with her second album, "21."

However, after battling a throat ailment that required surgery, weeks of vocal rest and postponing numerous concerts, the British powerhouse says the most important task on her current to-do list is relaxation.

"I'm really looking forward to some time to do nothing," the 23-year-old told Billboard magazine in an interview for their December 17 issue.

And, in news that may make many Adele fans cringe, the star says she may not put out new music for two to three years.

"I imagine I'll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven't even thought about my third record yet," she told the mag. "I'm just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just 'be' for a bit. I'll disappear and come back with a record when it's good enough. There will be no new music until it's good enough and until I'm ready."

As for her health, the "Someone Like You" singer says she's recuperating nicely and expecting great results from her recent surgery.

"The surgery couldn't have gone better -- but because I was singing with damaged vocal chords for three or four months and because of the surgery and because of the silence after the surgery, I now have to build myself back up vocally," she revealed. "It's gonna be a lot easier for me to sing now. And mentally I won't be worried about my voice on stage anymore. So I have to get used to that.

"That'll take most of January, so February I'll be singing properly!" she added.

Adele, you take ALL the time you need. That's why we LOVE you because you are a TRUE artist with a glowing soul. Unlike all of these auto-tune rejects making 2-3 albums in one year just to make a profit. Your music is raw soul, and nothing in this world trumps that.

Exactly! She is real and she sings real music

Not auto-tuned crapola set against the same tired computer dance beats.

Adele is so talented too....sorry to hear about this!!! Maybe "she" should lip-sync when she performs in concerts, etc...just sayin'

Maybe it's fine for TV, but who wants to fork over their hard earned $$ to see and hear somebody lip-syncing? Talk about being cheated!

I realize this is the You Tube/Internet Generation and some don't know what actual "live music" sounds like.

        They should try it sometime.

YEAH!!! Two to three years of not having to listen to her whine! Maybe by then she will over her boo-hoo fest.

Yeah! and maybe while she's not boo-hooing, Katy can fill in the void and do a Teenage Dream II or maybe "Last Friday Night Two Weeks Ago"

most artists would be making a big deal out of the fact that they couldn't sing. adele isn't making a big deal out of the fact that she can't sing for a while. That's what i like about her.

This woman has some damn sense! Unlike some artist she is willing, to take time and make music worth something, and not burn herself out!!

She's not addressing a potential cause for her vocal problems is due to the fact that she smokes. She should stop smoking if she hopes to recuperate. I love Adele. She's a true artist and an amazing talent.
