Adele Gives Brit Awards Middle Finger

Adele's '21' Goes Diamond

Less than one month after M.I.A. incurred the wrath of Super Bowl fans, Madonna and The FCC for flipping the bird on live television, Adele has given the one finger salute during her acceptance speech at The Brit Awards.

Just as she was proclaiming her British pride while accepting her award for Best Album (she also claimed Best Solo Female earlier in the night), host James Cordon interrupted the singer in order to introduce the next performers, Blur.

"I'm so sorry and I can't believe I'm about to cut [Adele off], I'm so sorry," Cordon said before Adele interjected with, "You're gonna cut me off? Can I just say then, Goodbye and I'll see you next time 'round" as she stuck her middle finger up in the air.

The gesture was met with a chorus of boos from the crowd, but Adele was quick to explain herself backstage, telling The BBC, "I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me."

Luckily Adele had already curried lots of good favor by slaying a performance of Rolling in the Deep. Watch!
