Adam Levine says he's not a fan of celebrity fragrances, but that didn't stop him from releasing his self-named colognes for men and women.
"The Voice" judge tweeted in 2011 that he wanted to "put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward."
However, he said his celebrity fragrances are different - an "anti-cologne," as he calls it.
"I'd much rather be bold and try to do something that competes with hugely iconic fashion fragrances," he told US Weekly at the launch. "I want to compete with the real ones, I want to compete with Dior, I want to compete with people who I revere. To me, that's what's cool about this."
Okay, sure. Why not just admit you're getting a sweet paycheck for it? Anyway, the buff Maroon 5 singer isn't the only celebrity releasing a fragrance this year.
Kim Kardashian might be busy with the growing baby in her stomach, but that's not stopping the reality star from continuing on with her work - specifically, her huge fragrance empire.
Kanye West's main girl is launching her sixth fragrance, Pure Honey. The fragrance is a departure from the floral scents she's released in the past - it has notes of raw honeycomb and rose, according to Kardashian.
"I am super involved from start to finish - on bottle design to ad campaign. I had this really great honey idea, so we moved away from just florals," the 32-year-old told Women's Wear Daily.
It's set for a worldwide launch in September.
Katy Perry - like Kardashian - is no stranger to the celebrity fragrance business. The "Wide Awake" singer released perfumes Purr and Meow! In 2010 and 2011, respectively - but now she's set for another fragrance release.
In November, Perry signed with Coty for a huge fragrance deal. The fragrance brand is the mastermind behind other big-earning celebrity fragrances from Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna.
And as for the fragrance? Not much is known about it yet, other than that it'll be "original and daring."
"Her unique approach to music and life will serve as the inspiration behind her innovative new scents and allow us to explore new avenues of scent creation," Coty said in a statement.
Justin Bieber has sold millions worth of fragrance to his female fans - and now boy band One Direction wants to get in on the action with a fragrance.
Women's Wear Daily reports that 1D will release a scent sometime in fall 2013. Other details are slim, other than they're partnering with Olivann Beauty, an off-shoot of Fusion Brands Inc.'s, for the fragrance.
