He may have been booted from his Good Morning America appearance, but Adam Lambert isn't sorry.

"I don't feel I owe anyone an apology for anything," he told KIIS-FM's Ryan Seacrest in an interview hours after GMA canceled his appearance following his racy American Music Awards performance Sunday night. "I performed, it was late-night TV, I did something that female performers have been doing for years, no different. It's just the fact that I'm me and it's a little different for people. It's really not that big of a deal."

Lambert, 27, added: "There's a slight double standard. We've seen female pop performers doing extremely sexual routines for years and all of the sudden a guy does it and it's crazy."

ABC had cited his "controversial American Music Awards performance" as the network's reason for uninviting the American Idol alum, adding that GMA was "concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning."

Although Lambert said "I'm not a babysitter, I'm a performer," he understood ABC's decision.

"They gotta do what they gotta do," said Lambert, who will now appear on Wednesday's The Early Show on CBS instead. "They probably had a lot of pressure coming at them from certain people who weren't happy about it. I respect their decision -- I don't necessarily agree with it, but they need to do what they need to do."

Still, he told Seacrest the news was disappointing.

"It's too bad," he said. "I think there were a lot of fans who were excited to come see me."

Lambert does admit that he got "extreme" during his show-closing number at the AMAs.

"It's choreography, we were dancing," he said. "The sexuality of it kind of got a little more extreme when I got up on stage. I think the adrenaline kind of took me over, and I admit it, and I'm proud of the fact that I did get a little carried away."

The best thing i can say is as i thought Adam had and has a great voice, and i knew he was gay, it was one of the best voices i heard in probably 20 years, i was also a recording artist. But i felt ashamed for him and for the people in my home for watching this. We have to draw a line somewhere, or just wait and see if the same things happen to us as did sodom an gommora. O my GOD.

I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED ADAM ESPECIALLY WHEN I GOT TO KNOW HOW WONDERFUL HIS VOICE IS AND HOW ENTERTAINING HE WAS DURING HIS TIME WITH AMERICAN IDOL. BUT I WAS REALLY TAKEN ABACK WHEN I SAW HIS PERFORMANCE AT THE AWARDS. I WAS SHOCKED AND DUMB FOUNDED. SORRY ADAM I KNEW WHO YOU WERE BUT YOU NEED TO KEEP IT IN THE CLOSET NOT PUSH IT UP AT US LIKE THAT.

I like Adam , and I could not wait to see him perform. He SUCKED or should I say he almost got sucked in front of 14 million people. The song sucked the whole thing sucked. Even if he didnt make out or grind I hated it! I expected him to come out with a band and belt a great rock song out, instead he comes out likes hes in a gay broadway show! Now I know why I like Chris Allen better!!!

Adam enjoy your short lived career. Your not a Star so quit trying to act like a Diva. Keep it up and you`ll get more shows cancelled. The majority of Americans are not gay and don`t want to watch your crap.

Adam doesn't need to apologize... Let's put a little perspective on the vocal minority here: The AMA show had 14.2 million viewers - of those only 1,500 complained... That's not enough of a good reason to bump Adam from GMA - or suggest that his career is finished before its even begun. Seriously, get over it.
