Dark Knight star
Christian Bale is denying
allegations he assaulted his 61-year-old mother and
40-year-old sister.
"
Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a
voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had
been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," the
star's attorneys said in statement released Tuesday.
"Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave
his account in full of the events in question, and has left the
station without any charge being made against him by the police,"
the statement continued.
"At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
London's
Daily Telegraph reported that Bale was
held by London police for four hours.
He is to return to the station in September pending further
inquiries.
The incident allegedly occurred at a west London hotel on Sunday.
His mother and sister went to police on Monday.
A police spokesman who declined to identify Bale, 34 told the
paper: "A 34-year-old man attended a London Police Station on
Tuesday by appointment and was arrested in connection with an
allegation of assault. He remains in custody."
