NEW YORK, New York -- Miami is the place to be for New Year's Eve... here's a sample of a few of the celebrity parties: Look for Kristin Cavallari, Kellan Lutz, Robert Iler and more bringing in the new year in sunny Miami at Shore Club's Skybar. ...And over at the swanky Gansevoort South hotel in South Beach, Chloe Sevigny will be hosting a New Year Eve's party with a live performance by T.I with DJ Cassidy and Jus Sky DJing.

Wednesday, December 17 in NYC --Ben Affleck spoke at United Nations headqurters at the launch of the "Gimme Shelter" Campaign for the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to raise awareness of and funds for the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Tuesday, December 16 in NYC --Never one to disappoint his fans, Tom Cruise braved the inclement New York winter to sign autographs for crowds gathered outside the "Late Show with David Letterman" studios.

And in LA -- Mickey Rourke said he never makes New Year's resolutions at the L.A. premiere of his film "The Wrestler." Also there: Mickey's co-star Marisa Tomei and director Darren Aronovsky with his beautiful wife Rachel Weisz, who posed but wouldn't do interviews...Will Smith was his usual charismatic self, signing autographs at the premiere of his film "Seven Pounds." Taye Diggs also showed up and said his friend and "Private Practice" co-star Kate Walsh is doing "extremely well" after her divorce... Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens took in a Lakers/Knicks game at the Staples Center... and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony enjoyed dinner at Luau's restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Monday, December 15 in NYC --Tom and Katie leaving the "Valkyrie" after-party at Nobu 57. Katie very sweetly said she thought the film was "great" when asked by photogs... Fall Out Boy performed an impromptu concert in Washington Square Park, where Pete Wentz handed out copies of the group's new CD after buying out all the copies at the Virgin store... New dad Liev Schreiber was congratulated by the paparazzi on the arrival of his newborn son, Samuel Kai. The cast and crew of "Life on Mars" were filming outside his apartment in NY which he was not too happy about...

And in LA -- Leo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Thora Birch, and Sam Mendes on the red carpet at the premiere of "Revolutionary Road"... Paris Hilton fixed her hair extensions before going into the Dolce & Gabbanna store opening. Lauren Conrad, Josh Brolin, Paris Hilton, Benji Madden, Nicky Hilton, Bijou Phillips, Rachel Bilson, and Rumer Willis also attended.

Sunday, December 14 in NYC --Nelly Furtado ate pulled pork nachos and ribs with a girlfriend at Southern Hospitality BBQ, Justin Timberlake's restaurant.

Saturday, December 15 in NYC -- Ashley Tisdale and her boyfriend walked down 5th Avenue on Saturday... 30 Rock's Katrina Bowden picked up some new styles of Genetic Denim at NYC boutique Owl's Lab... NYC native and music sensation Adrienne Bailon of Cheetah Girls and 3LW dined at Southern Hospitality BBQ with her mom and dad and a few friends, enjoying the onion haystack, pulled pork sliders, and mac & cheese, after a day of holiday shopping where she hit up American Eagle Outfitters in Union Square with her parents.

And in LA -- Lauren Conrad, Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Tori Spelling, Carmen Electra hung out at the Pepsi Holiday House... Ben Affleck joined thousands of volunteers at Operation Gratitude, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that sends more than 100,000 care packages and letters to troops stationed over seas every year... Tara Reid at an AA meeting in a church.

And in London -- Kate Moss wearing her Mulberry Bayswater Clutch while shopping.

Random sightings in LA -- Busy Phillips wore no makeup whatsoever at a Michaels store in line with her baby in a snuglee. She then loaded up her Lexus SUV while talking on her cell phone... Gerard Butler arrived to and left the club Avalon alone... Calista Flockhart wished the paps a "Happy Holidays" after shopping at Barneys in Beverly Hills.

And in NYC -- John Cena ordered a bucket of Coors Lite at Southern Hospitality... Keri Russell shopped while about a dozen paps watched through the window... Bill Murray and Kanye West partied it up at Anchor Bar. Murray and West were both there for Devo Springsteen's birthday party (a music manager who is also West's cousin). Murray was in the DJ booth requesting James Brown and dancing all crazy... Tiki Barber will accept $25,000 on Behalf of Children's Miracle Network at Liquidnet.

And in D.C. -- Kate Beckinsale stunned a well-heeled Washington crowd of media and political insiders at the D.C. premiere of "Nothing But The Truth" at the Naval Heritage Center. The British actress and cover star of Capitol File magazine revealed it was actually her first trip to Washington. She said to guests that the city reminded her of London and confessed that she never imagined herself to be married and living in America, though she was plenty involved in U.S. politics during this year's past campaign: "I'm not an American citizen and couldn't vote," she said. "It was impossible to not be caught up in it... I was constantly trying to sit on people and get them to vote for Obama for me."
