It's early February, which means one thing, couples everywhere are planning their Valentine's Day festivities. In the world of entertainment, some stars spend each year's Valentine's Day with someone new. We all know the fleeting and often fickle nature of love in Tinseltown, so when a couple manages to defy the odds and stick it out for at least a decade, it's really something to behold. Here now are six couple who have stuck it out and made it at least ten full years together.
Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker - The two officially started dating in 1992,and got married in 1997, which means they've been together for twenty years, and married for fifteen this year! That's an absolute life time in Hollywood. Matthew and Sarah met each other when he was directing her brothers in a play off-Broadway. The pair reportedly really hit it off from the get-go and they've been together ever since. Considering they've gone twenty years without their relationship being in the tabloids, we'd say this one looks pretty good to go all the way.
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell - In 1984 Goldie and Kurt started dating, and they've been together ever since. The two have never exchanged rings or vows, but they have raised kids together, and by all accounts are still very happy together. In 1987 the pair teamed up on the mistaken identity comedy "Overboard." These days both Kurt and Goldie seem to have taken a bit of a rest from the Hollywood rat race, but we're just glad they're taking the rest together.
Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon - Married since September of 1988, Bacon and Sedgwick are the kind of celebrity couple that just flies under the radar. They've been together so long, folks sometimes forget they're a couple, which in Hollywood may not be such a bad thing. The couple have two children and they seem poised to enjoy their golden years together.
Elton John and David Furnish - Together since 1993, Sir Elton and David have been a couple for nearly twenty years. In 2005, the pair were married in England, and have since adopted a little boy. Sir Elton has seen his career surge upward since the two got together, and he was even the subject of a documentary that David directed called "Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras," which gave fans an unprecedented look into Elton's personal and professional life.
Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox - They met when Tracy played Michael's girlfriend on "Family Ties," the sitcom that put Michael on the map. They didn't start dating until a year or two later though, but they obviously had a strong connection because they wed in 1988. Then just three years later they were hit with the news of Fox's diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. It's been truly inspiring to see not only Michael's heroic fight for research and a cure, but to see Tracy continually standing by Michael as the disease effects her husband.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson - These two are serious contenders for Hollywood's Sweetest Couple. Hanks and Wilson actually met each other on the set of Tom's sitcom "Bosom Buddies." The two were married a few years later in 1988 and have had two children together. The couple carries a classiness that harkens back to the Golden Age of Hollywood. They've managed like most of the other couples on this list to stay out of the tabloids, and it's not hard at all to envision them going the distance.
