Boy, Donald Trump sure does now how to carry a grudge, doesn't he? For about six years now, he has carried on a bitterly vitriolic feud with comedian Rosie O'Donnell. We should all take note not to criticize Trump, or we could end up in his cross-hairs too. Apparently The Donald really took umbrage when in 2006, as one of the co-hosts of ABC's "The View," Rosie said that Trump should have removed the current Miss Teen USA when she admitted to drug abuse.
That comment touched of a firestorm of a feud, with both stars firing verbal salvos back and forth at each other. All seemed to be quiet though, until Rosie's latest show on OWN, the network run by Oprah Winfrey, was canceled this week. When the news broke that "The Rosie Show" would not continue, Trump loaded his guns and went hunting, tweeting "Rosie O'Donnell has failed again. Her ratings were abysmal and Oprah cancelled her on Friday night. When will media executives learn that Rosie just hasn't got it." Ouch.
But if that weren't enough, Trump went onto Fox news on Monday morning and kept right on gunning for Rosie. "Rosie fails at everything...At some point, let her rest. Let her go away." Rosie has not officially fired back at Trump, but she did re-tweet Trump's Twitter-blasts at her.
Isn't it about time for this feud to end? It seems like Trump has a very personal vendetta against Rosie, and is willing to say some really unnecessary things to get his point across. If you ask us, there are a myriad of reasons for The Donald to take a chill pill, but here are the biggest three.
He's Got No Room To Talk - When you make a statement that someone fails at everything they do, it might be wise to check your own track record first. Trump's company's have filed for bankruptcy in one form or another at least four times, it was revealed in 2011. Sure, he could argue that putting a company into bankruptcy can save it from completely dissolving, but wouldn't a company have to be failing in order for it to need to file? It would appear that at least four times in his life, a venture he's been involved in has failed so terribly that they needed a hand out of the mess.
"Celebrity Apprentice" Ratings are Down - The latest numbers seem to show a downward trend for Donald's show that has B and C-list stars battling it out for some camera time and a charitable donation in their name. In fact, last week's ratings were the lowest in the show's history. If the numbers don't pick up, could we be seeing the last of this version of his reality show franchise? Seems like that could be called a failure too, doesn't it?
It's Old News, Donald! - Someone needs to just sit Trump down and tell him that in this day and age, no one has the attention span for a six-year-long, protracted battle between stars. Whether he was right or wrong all that long ago no longer matters, because now he's starting to take on the image of a bully, salivating at the chance to get another jab in at Rosie. Perhaps it's time for Donald to stop counting his gold, and worry more about the Golden Rule. "Do unto others as you'd have done to you."
