Ranging from pale blush to fuchsia, pink is always a popular shade to wear at awards shows. However, against a red carpet, pink can be a difficult color to pull off. Regardless, several actresses braved the bright shade. Who rocked their pink gown at the Oscars and who failed to impress?
The "Extra" host wore a bright pink Romona Keveza strapless bustier gown that apparently was a bit painful to wear. She posted a picture of her slouching in a car on her way to the ceremony and teamed it with the caption that said ' This is how I have to sit in the car..the dress has a bustier that's stabbing me! Hahah." The beauty finished off her look with a bouffant hairstyle, a diamond necklace and a diamond bracelet.
The 22-year-old had quite the night! She wore a stunning strapless pale, blush-colored Dior Haute Couture ballgown that had textured detailing, a fitted bodice and a large voluminous skirt. In addition to her chandelier earrings, she wore a back necklace. Here's hoping the stunning back necklace catches on as a trend. The beauty kept her makeup toned down and opted for a pulled-back hairstyle. Not only did she walk away one as one of the best dressed of the evening, but she also won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Unfortunately, when she made her way to the stage, the combination of poofy dress and nerves caused her to take a tumble on the stairs. Hugh Jackman, the dashing gentleman that he is, rushed to her aid and she eventually got on stage to accept her award.
The actress wore a strapless fuchsia ballgown that had structured detailing on the bodice and a full skirt. The gown was way too much and looked more like a prom dress gone wrong than a gown worthy of being at the Oscars. She finished off her look with pink jewels, a black clutch purse and a high updo.
The "Twilight" actress walked - actually limped - down the red carpet in a pale blush colored strapless Reem Acra gown that consisted of textured embroidery from top-to-bottom and tulle poking out at the bottom. The dress didn't fit well and the color washed her out. As if that wasn't bad enough, her hair also looked disheveled. Overall, a big thumbs down. The limp was apparently caused by her badly cutting her foot on glass a few days ago.
At the last minute the "Les Miserables" actress skipped her Valentino gown and opted for a pale pink Prada column gown with an open back. Unfortunately, she encountered a major wardrobe malfunction when it became apparent that she wasn't wearing a bra or pasties, and the darts in her dress made it look like you could see her nipples. Almost immediately, a Twitter account popped up under the name of AnneHathaway Nipples. It currently has 4,000 followers. At least Anne walked away with the Oscar for best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Who gets your vote for best and worst pink dresses at the 2013 Oscars?
