'Moment Of Truth' Couple: Was It All For The Money?

By Access HollywoodFebruary 28, 2008, 8:14 am PST

Days removed from Monday night's episode of Fox's "Moment of Truth," people are still talking about the shocking and disgusting display put on national TV, courtesy of Frank and Lauren Cleri.

With her husband by her side, Lauren admitted to sleeping with another man during her marriage.

And now, after causing quite a stir, Frank and Lauren have sat down with Access Hollywood for an exclusive interview.

"I didn't want there to be any embarrassment on the show for anybody," Lauren told Access.

Of course, this is the same woman who admitted to infidelity, theft and being in love with her ex-boyfriend, all while husband Frank sat just a few feet away.

But for now, Lauren and Frank are still together.

"I think when we figure it out, it'll be better for the both of us - whether we stay together or, you know, go our separate ways," Frank told Access.

And while Lauren's answers might have shocked the audience, apparently it wasn't all a surprise to her husband.

"We've been having our problems way before the show," Lauren added. "So, he knew a lot going into it."

But on air, it appeared to be a much different story.

"I'm really not concerned about the money. I just feel a lot better getting everything I need to get off my chest," she said during the show.

Lauren claimed she was spilling her secrets for the first time and that the money was not important - assertions inconsistent with what the couple said in their interview with Access and with "Moment of Truth" host Mark L. Wahlberg's own experience.

"As they're leaving the set, I walked over and said I was so sorry to the husband. And I was saying, 'Sorry you had to be a part of this,' his answer was, 'Yeah, we were so close to the money,'" Wahlberg revealed to Access. "And that's when I said, 'OK, this is a different value system than I have.'"

So was the couple in cahoots from the beginning, faking these bombshells to score a big pay day?

Both Lauren and Frank deny that story.

"All of my answers are, you know, heartfelt and they're true ," Lauren told Access.

She didn't lie she wasn't asked a question about what she did she was given a hypothetical about her personal view of herself. She wanted to come clean about mistakes done in her life give the woman a break. The show should pay her the money

what's the fuss about? they were just giving the audience what it wants. the really disgusting thing isn't that people will degrade themselves for money, but that people sit there and watch them do it. if these types of shows weren't attracting veiwers, the networks wouldn't be broadcasting them.and the host of such a show is a fine one to be discussing values.what

I can't believe it. FOX has hit a new low. That was possibly the sleaziest piece of television ever. Every time you think FOX has scraped the bottom of the barrel, they manage to go even lower. I can't and don't want to imagine what spectacle will ever outdo this piece of prurient trash.

I think it was all just B.S. It's a stupid idea for a show and it just displays the fact that the studios are running out of ideas that are good and have a boat load of bad ideas just waiting to be put on TV.

How the hell can anyone really be shocked? Fox showed that commercial more time than i could count (especially during the Nascar race). "Reality" tv at its lowest common denominator to be sure.

I could tell by watching that show they were in it for the $$$$! I mean if you're so concerned with your spouse's behavior and suspicious, why find that out on national T.V.? Save that garbage for Jerry Springer!
