An Australian supermodel who became a global star, Miranda Kerr was as famous for her low-key nature as she was for marrying actor Orlando Bloom. Born April 20, 1983 in Sydney, Australia, Miranda May Kerr won a national modeling contest at age 13, which stirred some controversy but helped launch the young model onto the international stage. Blessed with a girl-next-door beauty and a grounded outlook, Kerr saw her popularity explode in America as she landed multiple high-level endorsements, contracts and magazine covers, becoming the first Australian Victoria's Secret Angel. The face of multiple campaigns and products, Kerr soon was one of the world's highest paid models and, demonstrating business acumen to match her beauty, she launched her own successful skincare line, KORA Organics. She announced her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom in June 2010, and the two were not only married shortly thereafter, but welcomed their son, Flynn, on Jan. 6, 2011. A very centered and spiritual person, Kerr eschewed aggressively pursuing fame and wealth and instead focused on her family, living a green, healthy lifestyle, and working when and where she preferred.
