Mark Ronson Talks Writing A 'Bond' Theme With Amy Winehouse

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Amy Winehouse is working on a theme song for the new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace," but whether it will make the film's cut is still up in the air.

The embattled singer has been writing the potential track with her "Back To Black" producer, Mark Ronson, according to the BBC's 6 Music.

"Hopefully if they like it, it will get used. But I don't think we've been guaranteed it," Ronson told the outlet. "We're working on it and we'll see happens."

Ronson, who won a Grammy for Producer of the Year this past February for his work with Winehouse, said it was the pint-sized singer who was approached about the number.

"They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she'd want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it," he said.

As for what the track is shaping up to sound like, Ronson remained vague.

"The demo sounds like something that sounds like a James Bond theme hopefully. But I don't know if it'll get used," he said. "I'm sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we're competing with and we don't know about."

Should the Winehouse cut not end up attached to Daniel Craig's news Bond venture, Ronson said he would like to attempt to write for the film series at some point down the road.

"I'm not sure, but hopefully I'll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes," he said. "If we don't get this one maybe we'll get another one."
