Mandy Moore & John Mayer: A Budding Romance?

The pair was spotted at a trendy outdoor cafe in the SoHo area of Manhattan yesterday, and they look to be quite friendly as they move in for a hug!

But was this merely a lunch between friends, or could there be a blossoming romance between the musician and singer/actress?
Only they know for sure, but both have been known to date high-profile celebrities in the past.
Mayer, 29, famously dated Jessica Simpson (another singer/actress) until their split in June.

Moore, 23, has reportedly been linked to tennis pro Andy Roddick in the past, as well as actors Wilmer Valderrama and Zach Braff. Last month, she was rumored to be dating California musician Greg Laswell.

Mandy (a Hollywood native) was in NYC yesterday for the premiere of her latest film, "Dedication," held at Manhattan's Chelsea West Cinema.
John divides his time between residences in New York and Los Angeles.
