Lauren Conrad Retracts Her Blog Over Us Weekly Cover Story; Issues New Statement

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad has changed her tune after lashing out at a recent cover story in Us Weekly.

Lauren, or LC as her friends call her, was featured on the cover of Us Weekly this week, next to the headline, "How I Was Stabbed In The Back."

Following the release of the article, LC posted a blog on Thursady, on her MySpace page, criticizing the article. Now, Access Hollywood has learned, she has changed her tune from the original post.

"It was never my intention to criticize Us Weekly as I have a great relationship with them. My statement was only meant to support and stand by my friends," LC said in a statement to Access.

The controversy was initially sparked after Us Weekly's headline claimed LC was "furious" that her ex-boyfriend, Brody Jenner, found himself a model girlfriend, and which indicated she was in "shock" over BFF Audrina Partridge's renewed friendship with her "Hills" arch-enemy, Heidi Montag.

"Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up," LC wrote in the Thursday post on her MySpace page. "I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another 'poor me' story."

LC originally went on to say the actual piece wasn't what upset her, it was the words on the cover.

"The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this," LC originally wrote. "I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day."

seriously if youre going to say that none of these people care about whats going on in the world, maybe you should ask THEM. think about it, none of these magazines take the time to ask them how they feel about it. all they care about is putting the latest gossip in. and i mean come on, its a GOSSIP website, hence why they arent talking about" CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION GOING ON RIGHT NOW IN T

Sticker Princess-you need to read up on the things these people do BEHIND the stories. Of course the media only shows what they want seen...Lauren does a lot of charity things, she is a great designer, and she seems to have her head on straight. You need to read more about these people before you start blasting them with a bunch of nonsense. Get a life.

Sticker Princess- obviously you have nothing better going on either otherwise you wouldn't be on a gossip site blasting celebrities. Who are you to say how they think or feel? Instead of slamming them why don't you make a difference in the world and do something about it yourself? I agree Whitney seems really down to earth and trustworthy. I like Audrina too.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - A few days before the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War, rock musician Serj Tankian is sitting in an Austin hotel room and ruminating on the costs of the endless battle. But Tankian isn't talking about dead soldiers or civilians; he's talking about the cost to the Middle East's environment, an issue that few people have raised. "The topsoi
