LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ewan McGregor has revealed he recently had a minor cancer scare.
The 37-year-old star, whose film credits include "Trainspotting," "Moulin Rouge" and the "Star Wars" prequels, opened up to the BBC about having surgery to remove a cancerous mole from beneath his right eye.

"I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct," McGregor told the BBC, adding that his surgery was "not that big of a deal."
The actor, who stars in the new thriller "Deception" alongside Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams (in theaters April 25), said he thought it "was best to be looked at" by doctors.
