Ellen's Dog Problems Continue To Look Stormy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 22, 2007) - As Ellen's problems with Iggy begin to subside, another woman has come forward alleging Ellen re-gifted yet another dog, this one named Stormy. However, Ellen's publicist tells Access that there are two sides to this latest story.

Kerri Randles, a Los Angeles producer, says she gave Stormy, a male mutt, to Ellen two years ago. Less than two months after she gave Ellen the dog, the talk show host passed off the dog to a member of her staff, Page Sixis reporting.

Randles said DeGeneres seemed like a perfect pet owner at first, but she says she quickly discovered the daytime TV hostess was "neurotic and crazy."

When Randles took Stormy to meet Ellen, she says she was "drilled" by Ellen and her staff for four hours before Ellen decided to keep the dog for a few days to find out if Stormy would get along with her other pets.

When Randles followed up with Ellen about the puppy, everything seemed to be working out. "She acted like she was keeping it for life," says Randles.

Months later, Randles says she contacted Ellen to check on Stormy, only to find out Ellen had given Stormy away. "She may have had it for much less time than that. I only say two months because that's when I called to check on the dog and found out she no longer had it," Randles said. "I was totally shocked. I thought she was out of her mind."

Howard Stern claimed on his Sirius radio show Monday morning that he had heard of 9 separate instances where Ellen had done this with other dogs.

According to Ellen's publicist, Kelly Bush, the comedienne was told Stormy was living in a car at the time Ellen rescued him. Bush claims Ellen offered to find a safe home for the dog. The following day, Ellen helped place Stormy in a better home.

Ellen is back after taking time off. Celine Dion will tape a segment which will air sometime in the next month. Tomorrow, Ellen will do a story on pet adoptions.

Iggy, the puppy at the center of Ellen's doggie problems, remained safe from the storm, in a new home. Portia de Rossi, Ellen's girlfriend and the one who originally signed the papers for Iggy 's adoption, missed the LA "Nip/Tuck" premiere on Saturday night, after cracking a tooth. Portia will guest star on the hit FX series for nine episodes this season.
