Dolly Parton Lashes out Over Howard Stern Clip; Considers Lawsuit

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A segment that aired on the Howard Stern show last week has enraged Dolly Parton.

Stern ran cut up audio of the country legend on his Sirius radio program last week, which made it sound like Parton had uttered several rude phrases about Linda Ronstadt, Burt Reynolds, Kenny Rogers and herself.

Stern jokingly claimed Parton's cut up phrases were part of a new audio book authored by the star.

"I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life. I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me," Dolly said in a statement.

Parton said she was mortified by the patchwork clip and hopes the public realizes she would never utter the words they attached to her in the clip.

"In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth. They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing," her statement continued.

Parton went on to apologize for the audio she had no part of, and suggested she is considering suing Stern over the incident.

"Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this," her statement read. "If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."

A rep for Stern was not available for comment.

Jesus christ. Has anyone even heard the clips they were playing? It would be obvious to a retard that it was pieced together. Dolly should just enjoy the bit of notoriety, and publicity that this is giving her. You know Stern is, and will be, lawsuit or no.

I am going to comment on several BITS of these posts. Words can Hurt credability! I don't think Dolly will sue not unless she can get the point across to Howard himself .Because Lord knows she doesn't need the money. Let me just say that in order to make any difference to Howard Stern is to Take enough money that he Feels it. Then The Original Shock Jock will just Shrug it off!! H

Making fun of people or using them in ways that appear "funny" while embarrassing them without their prior consent in order to make money--which is what Stern does-- is wrong. Many more presssing things in our society than Howard or Dolly. "Words" cannot hurt or help anyone. Here, "All of you drop dead." Now, who wants to post from the Great Beyond that I killed them with my words. Offensive words? Sure. Every single time a career politician speaks :)

Dolly runs around all day making jokes about her "assets", yet this cut up book makes her want to sue. She needs to get a life. No one with 1/2 a brain would believe those words came out of her mouth it's so chopped up. STERN RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I worked at Dollywood in Pigeon Fofrge Tn. There is much to do about your race there.
