LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Did Heath Ledger father a love child as a teen? That's the question fans are asking after the late actor's uncle spoke to the Australian press.

Heath Ledger's uncle, Haydn Ledger, told Australia's News Ltd newspapers there was a "real possibility" that late actor fathered a child at 17, with an older woman.

The paper reports that the woman is believed to have learned she was pregnant after her affair with a teenage Ledger ended.

A family source told the newspaper group over the weekend, "She had the baby. Everyone lived under the assumption that she was the daughter of the mother's boyfriend and that is how she has been brought up."

Heath's father Kim Ledger and mother Sally Bell refused to comment to the publication yesterday.

The Sydney Morning Herald reached the woman Heath is believed to have had an affair with. She pleaded for privacy and claimed her daughter, 11, could be "incredibly hurt," if she were to be identified.

The child's stepfather suggested a DNA test to ease press attention according to one Australian report, but the woman refused one when contacted by the Sydney Morning Herald.

The request was "very, very rude," the mother said.

Although from their comments it appeared there was little interest in Heath's estate, there has been controversy. Heath's uncles, Haydn and Mike, have claimed in the Australian press that the actor's father, Kim, mismanaged their grandfather's estate following his death.

"He was the executor of our grandfather's estate and left it in total tatters," Mike Ledger told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Kim Ledger is one of several family beneficiaries of Heath's estate, which the paper reports may be worth up to $10 million. In the April 2003 will however, drawn up before the birth of Heath's daughter Matilda, only $145,000 in assets were listed.

Kim Ledger has said Matilda will be looked after.

Ashlee - I did not join the Army because I was stupid or had to. I joined because why go half-ass if you want to serve your Country. I qualified for ANY job in all 4 branches at age 17 - that did not require college. And ANY means ALL. Including your husbands.

The battle going on between me and the person who those comments were aimed at does NOT involve you. Those comments were meant for him and him alone so chill out and stop jumping into the middle of a conversation & acting like you know what it all about cause you don't. P.S. Don't you EVER again presume to judge me OR my husband...you know nothing about us ................

con...I am very well aware of what our military does for us but you need to back off...I'm sorry if you took my comments personally but you have taken them out of context. They were not aimed at YOU or even the Army but at a very specific person in here who "claims" to have been in the Army.................

Melis, first, my comments were not directed at the Army as a whole...it was a remark made to a specific person in here to make a point. Second of all, I noticed that my last comment did not get posted, that comment was explaining what I just said which is that I respect ALL branches of the military but was trying to get a point across to a VERY narrow minded person ..............

And I don't care to hear your opinions on the military especially if you itend on insulting them. My husband is in the military and not in the "Army" either...he was smart enough to get into a more selective branch. After all, we both know that as many great guys as there are in the Army...they aren't exactly known for being picky...they take pretty much anyone ..

Ahh....Alcoholism, cancer causing tobaco products, profanity and violence....ALL things that are the ear marks of good men huh?? And all things I'm sure God DOES approve of in YOUR opinion right?? Wow...you're just one BIG walking contradiction aren't you?? You are the biggest hipocrit I have ever spoken to .....................

ASHLEE: United States Army Infantry. Basic Training in Fort Benning, Georgia in 1980. Soldiers were still allowed to drink, smoke, cuss, and punch each other. Drill SGT's broke up fights with baton's on the head. No Anger Management, no Gender Sensitivity, no homo's allowed. To the point - we were killing soldiers. Not a Social Experiment like today's mil

Rachael/Chris: So now you've resorted to insulting certain branches of the military by calling them wimps? So, "Mr Big Shot" What branch of the military was dumb enough to take you...I mean were you in?
