HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Best New Artist is always one of the most fun Grammy categories, because it's so hard to define. The category has been around since 1960 and nominees are submitted based on "a new artist who releases, during the Eligibility Year, the first recording which establishes the public identity of the artist."
