LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Valerie Bertinelli may have taken Kirstie Alley's place as Jenny Craig spokeswoman, but now, the newly slim star wants her old mentor to follow her lead.
"She should come work out with me!" Valerie, who recently unveiled her trim bikini body, told People. "She should remember you can't do everything in one day [and] her exercise has to be consistent. She can do this. There's no doubt in my mind."

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kirstie Alley has gained 83 pounds since ending her Jenny Craig spokeswoman role, the star told People.
Kirstie, who appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last week to discuss her weight gain after appearing on the show in 2006 to show off a svelte bikini body, told the mag things got out of hand after parting ways with the Jenny Craig program.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kirstie Alley made a memorable appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2004 to show off her slimmed-down bikini body - but on Thursday, following a recent weight gain confession from Oprah herself, the star returned to the talk show to open up about her weight battles.
"It's humiliating," she told Oprah. "The most painful thing for me is that I have all these people that I inspired and then I let them down."
