Heath Ledger's Family Arrives In LA; Headed To Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The family of the late Heath Ledger arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday, four days before the Academy Awards on Sunday.
According to The Australian newspaper, Heath's parents - Kim and Sally, and his sister, Kate -- were among the family members who landed at LAX and spoke with reporters.
The family will be attending the Oscars this weekend.

PERTH, AU -- On the one-year anniversary of their brother's death, Heath Ledger's sisters addressed the media in Australia, sharing their joy over the late actor's Oscar nomination.
Heath's sisters - Kate Ledger, Ashleigh Bell and Olivia Ledger -- went to Cottesloe beach in Australia, the site where the "Dark Knight" star's wake was held, to pay tribute to the actor just after 11:30 AM local time on Friday morning.

The late actor has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 81st Academy Awards for his role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight," it was announced on Thursday morning.
