NEW YORK, New York -- Kelly Ripa was in New York's Times Square today sending a text message to help kick-off of a unique "text-a-thon" for a cause.
During September, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Electrolux and Kelly Ripa are holding the text-a-thon to help raise support for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund whose mission is to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.

more »LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Actresses Edie Falco and Cynthia Nixon appear in a new Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) public service campaign to educate cancer patients and their loved ones about the increased risk of infection during cancer treatment and the importance of learning how to manage one's risk.
The campaign's goal is to encourage cancer patients and their caregivers to actively work with their physicians to learn what can be done to lower the risk of infection before starting chemotherapy.

Several big names have lined up cable projects for the New Year, including Thomas Jane, Maria Bello and Edie Falco.
more »NEW YORK, New York -- Jennifer Aniston is heading back to primetime, with a guest appearance on NBC's "30 Rock," the network announced on Tuesday, confirming an earlier report by AccessHollywood.com.
Aniston will appear in one episode as a "free-spirited, 'Fatal Attraction'-like stalker" named Claire Harper, who is the Liz Lemon's (Tina Fey) former Chicago roommate, NBC revealed.
And judging from the first sneak peek photo of Aniston's cameo, released by Bauer-Griffin Online, it appears a fountain comes into play - a la her famous "Friends" opening sequence.

Following her guest-starring stint on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother," Britney Spears has been left off of the list of Emmy's 11 semifinalists in the category of Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Despite earning largely rave reviews for her turn as Abby the receptionist on the hit sitcom, Brit couldn't crack the top 11, although she was one of 41 actresses to be considered for a nomination.
However, Britney wasn't the only guest-starring celeb to get the snub.
