Brad & Angelina Among Vanity Fair's 'Influential' List

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt aren't just the world's most famous couple. They're also now being called the most influential.

The superstars were collectively ranked number nine on Vanity Fair's annual "100" list, where they joined such luminaries as former Vice President Al Gore and Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the top of the rankings of the magazine's "New Establishment."

NEW ORLEANS, Calif. -- As Hurricane Gustav approaches New Orleans, Jerry Lewis is using the 43rd Annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon to help.

The comedian will encourage families registered with MDA and being evacuated from their homes due to Gustav to seek out MDA services wherever they end up. MDA has almost 5,000 registered families in the affected areas.

Brad Pitt Gets Award For Best Actor At Venice International Film Festival, One Year Later

VENICE, Italy -- The Venice International Film Festival honored Brad Pitt with its Best Actor trophy on Wednesday, People reported -- but not for one of this year's films. The award was held for him since winning last year for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."

Brad is at the festival for his latest, "Burn After Reading," the Coen brothers' dark comedy in which he costars with frequent screen partner George Clooney. Pitt plays a gym employee who stumbles upon a disc of secret CIA information.
