Oprah’s Past Lover Revealed

Just when you think you know everything there is to know about OprahWinfrey, another bombshell drops: Kitty Kelley, author of theoverlooked, masterful biography "Oprah," has come forward with newdetails of an ex Winfrey lover she learned aboutafter the book was published. In a dishy post on Gawker,Kelley reveals that handsome Haitian filmmaker Reginald Chevalier romanced the media mogul pre-Stedman Graham.

Chevalierrecently emailed Kelly, teasing: "How come you didn't find me? I wasOprah's lover back in the 1980's and lived with her for four monthsbefore Stedman came on the scene."

According to Kelley,Chevalier's relationship with Winfrey began in 1985 when he appeared onher talk show as part of segment on lookalikes. (He looked like BillyDee Williams). Winfrey developed a crush and asked him out. Thus ensueda Chicago-based love affair that included candlelit baths at Winfrey'sluxe apartment, dinners with Michael Jordan and then-wife Juanita andcouples' outings to Bears games. Chevalier accompanied Winfrey to the Windy City premiereof "The Color Purple" -- or rather, he played third wheel to Winfreyand her BFF, Gayle King, who joined them for the big event.

"Gayle was always around," he tells Kelley. "Everywhere we went she was there. She was Oprah's shadow."

Thewhirlwind romance ended circa April 1986, when Winfrey dumped Chevalierfor Stedman. She didn't do it in person. She left him a note.

Meanwhile, Chevalier's on Facebook, peering into a movie camera, all director-like, in his profile photo. He goes by the name "Regi."

Here's an idea! Chevalier and Kelley should get together and make the definitive movie of Winfrey's life, based on Kelley's book. Winfrey would at first try to block production, then swiftly change her mind after locking eyes with her old flame and deciding to play herself.
