In the latest issue, via Celebitchy, an insider says the would-be odd couple hit it off after meeting several weeks ago. "She's just having fun -- and she's begging him not to blab," quoth the source.
Not so, we've learned. The Oscar-winning actress -- who's just finished filming the Roman Polanski comedy "Carnage" overseas -- has never crossed paths with Mayer, who's been flying under the radar as much as humanly possible since his disastrous Playboy interview.
This takes us back to November when Star reported a steamy romance between Mayer and married TV chef Giada De Laurentiis. She emphatically denied letting him into her kitchen, and we poured balsamic vinegar all over another false Star report.
