Jonah Hill’s Drastic Weight Loss: Better … or Worse?

Behold the jaw-dropping transformation of Jonah Hill, who's shrunk to half his size in just under a year. The guy from "Superbad" is now super-thin. We know we're supposed to gush about how good he looks and celebrate his weight loss but there's something a little .... off. At the risk of descending into needless bodysnark, we can't help noting that Hill -- a hilarious, self-deprecating and underrated actor -- appears less appealing than before, maybe even too thin.

It's a lot to take in: Hill looks so different. The "Moneyball" star's leaner frame makes his head seem disproportionately large for his body (see: the bobblehead effect.) We wonder if Hill, who saw a nutritionist and personal trainer to drop pounds, might have exceeded his goal weight rather than finding a healthy-looking middle ground in between the Jonah Before and the Jonah After. Note: we are not suggesting that Hill has an eating disorder of any kind, just that he could have gotten a little carried away -- and, in the process, emerged an uncomfortably different person. (Brad Pitt was rumored to have put the pressure on Hill to get in shape, nicknaming him "Fat Man.")

The effect is somewhat jarring, but it hasn't changed his personality one bit. On last night's Letterman, Hill -- always a terrific talk-show guest -- regaled the audience with a story about how Pitt pranked him mercilessly on the set of "Moneyball":
